Ancestors of the breed: Celtic Pony, Friesian, Galloway, and Welsh Cob.

Primary uses: riding, agricultural work, and trekking.

Color: black or brown; white star is permitted.

Height: 13.2 - 14.2 hands.

Physique: neat head on a strong neck, a powerful compact body, thick mane and tail, short legs with feathering on the feet.

Character: sensible, quiet, and hard-working.
