FELL PONY

Country of origin: Western side of the Pennine Hills in England.

Ancestors of the breed: Celtic Pony, Galloway

Primary uses: riding, driving, and trekking.

Color: usually black, also brown, bay, or grey; white markings on the legs are permitted.

Height: 13 - 14 hands.

Physique: an alert head on a long neck, a muscular body with strong legs, feathering on the feet, and a thick mane and tail.

Character: hard-working and lively.
