The Pinto Horse Association is a colour registry, which registers any breed of horse that meets its colour requirements. Therefore, Pinto's may be any breed of horse

When the darker color is black it is often described as a Piebald. When the darker color is not black it is described as a Skewbald.

The word PINTO, is Spanish for PAINTED

There are four types of conformation: The saddle,stock, hunter and racing

Pintos standing at around 12 - 14 hands high are registered as ponys, Pintos at 14.1 - 16 hands are registered as horses
