This is a Ancient breed of small horse found in the Basque region of France and Spain

The Pottokk (or Pottock) is still semi wild

There are three types of Pottock: the Standard, the Piebald (between 11 and 13 hands high) and the Double Pottock (between 12.2 to 14.2 hands high)

The Pottock is a Tarpan descendant

For generations this pony has been used as a pack horse in the mountainous area of Basque

It is a tough horse with endurance it is a good harness animal

They are gathered at the end of January. Branded, and either sold or returned to the hills as breeding stock

They are good child mounts due to their calm disposition

The back is straight and the quarters are short and slope down from the croup

The tail is set fairly high and the feets are strong
