• This horse originated in Russia - it was developed at the Tersk stud in northern Caucasus

• Ancestors of the breed: Streletsk Arabian, Kabardin, Don Arabian, Shagya Arabian, and Thoroughbred

• The horse is used for flat racing, competition and in the circus

• Colours: usually grey but sometimes bay

• The Tersk stands at up to 15 hands high

• A medium sized hea with a straight profile, medium length neck and back and deep chest

• Muscular hindquarters, a high-set tail and fine hard legs
