Sauromalus
Ater Shawi - Chuckwalla
Chuckwallas are from the Isla San Marcos, from the Mexican Gulf of California. When confronted by an aggressor, it climbs into the narrowest of cracks and fattens itself up, lodging itself into the rocks so that it cannot be pulled out. It has a large back, that soaks up the sun's rays and its tail tends to be wider, thicker and shorter than that of its cousins. |
