Cyclura
Cornuta Cornuta - Rhinoceros Iguana or Hispaniola Rhinoceros Iguana
This is the most common and the largest of the Cyclura genera. Some can become domesticated but most do not, they are known for their nasty bite. They are intelligent and can differentiate their owner from other humans. The male are almost four feet in length and are very stocky animals, some weigh up to twenty pounds. They get the name rhinoceros from the conical growths on top of their snout, which are more pronounced on females. |
