Bombay

A Bombay looks and moves like a sleek, black panther. They are small cats that are solid black from their noses to their toes. Even their paw pads and their whiskers are black. Their coats are shimmering jet black with the gloss and sheen of patent leather. Kittens start out rusty black and gradually mature into jet black.

Bombays should have copper eyes, but light gold is also acceptable. The Bombay comes in two different types. Traditional Bombays are normal-looking and have noses and muzzles that are a natural length and shape. Contemporary Bombays are the extreme version of this breed. They have round heads and large bulging eyes. While Contemporary Bombays usually win at cat shows, this "look" is really the result of a defective gene that sometimes produces horrible deformities in kittens.

The Bombay loves attention and being pampered, in fact this cat purrs a lot more than most cats.
