The Korat is one of the oldest natural breeds of cat. It is believed to have been named after the Thai province. In its native land it is known as "Si-Sawat" which is due to the good fortune that it is believed to bring to those who own this cat. The Korat is very affectionate and sweet, and is therefore very good with children. Korats are silver-blue cats with heartshaped faces and green eyes. They have short, glossy coats, which are very fine. Their coats lie close to their bodies, which means they look more like skin. The blue color of their coats varies in shade; some cats are lighter than others. While Korats are sleek, they're stockier than Russian Blues. They are medium-sized with huge rounded ears. Their paw pads are dark blue or lavender with a pinkish tinge. Korats are often polished with a chamois leather or silk cloth. Breeders
