Scottish Fold

The most striking feature of this cat, are its ears, which are small. net and rounded at the tips - the front of the ear folds over to completely cover the ear opening. It is believed that the gene for folded ears has been present in the feline population for approximately 150 years - however, the modern cat arose from a mutant kitten that was found in Scotland in 1966. This cat was then exported to the US in the early 1970's.

Scottish Folds are medium-sized, compact cats with powerful builds and folded ears. Shorthaired Folds are more popular than longhaired Folds. Almost all color and coat patterns are available. The most popular is probably the brown patched tabby with or without white markings. Folds have huge button eyes, short, broad noses, and rounded cheeks.
