Hi everyone

Anybody who visits this ‘ Give us a Home’ venue looking for a rescue pet, and strongly disapproves of Puppy Farming , and indeed some of the most vile and cruel practices that is being carried out on these innocent mortals such as incestuous breeding, mating females who are no more than puppies on their first season, keeping and breeding them in the most inhumane conditions. At the end of their sometimes short and miserable lives, they are cruelly dispatched either by slitting their throats with a knife, several shovel blows to their skulls, a couple of hammer blows, or sometimes a ‘Captive Bolt Gun’ is used illegally. Some animals even have their muzzle and legs bound together and ‘Buried Alive’.

I beg all who read this Please, Please give us your support in stamping out such practices, by helping us to get New Laws passed by Parliament and placed on the Statute Book so that ‘Puppy Farming’ and ‘cruelty to ALL animals ‘, becomes a Criminal Offence punishable with a lengthy Custodial Sentence in Prison. Also any ill-gotten gains, Property etc of the offenders will be automatically seized by the courts, auctioned off and the monies from the sales, distributed fairly to genuine Animal Rescue Centres.

To give us your much needed support, please e-mail us at: ’campaignagainstpuppyfarming@virginmedia.com’ with your email address and your reasons for supporting our campaign. Should you have any photographic or video evidence of any such practices please email a copy across also. These will be passed on to a well known MP who is prepared to act on behalf of all of us and propose a Bill in the house of Commons and get it passed with the help of other Animal Loving MP's provided we can generate enough support.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hello to Tina Nolan, author of Animal Rescue!

We have just received our first two books - "Honey" and "Charlie". We are very excited to read them! We have lots of pets and plants in our classroom!

We are Grade 2 students in Coquitlam, BC, Canada. We were surprised to see that you are all the way from the United Kingdom!

We think that we might buy more of your books in the series of Animal Rescue!

Why would you want a monkey for they are not classed as pets? Monkeys are sociable animals & need to be kept with their own kind not shut upp in a cage. For those that have the neccessary facilitys meaning loads of space for them to roam about not in a back garden & the proper knowledge & licence etc these would be eductional places like the monkey rescue in dorset i think.

With the new animal welfare bill it will be putting a stop to this.

URGENT APPEAL FOR DOG RESCUE

Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collie & Working Sheepdogs

Search for new premises is getting urgent!
Our present landlord would like to start work on renovating the cottages in the early Autumn, so our search for new premises intensifies. If anyone spots anything that looks suitable, please get in touch. We have had a few disappointments recently on potential properties.

Wiccaweys needs a new place to rent or lease.

We have come to the end of our tenancy in our current property, and are looking for suitable property elsewhere ASAP.

We specialise in the rehabilitation and rehoming of Border Collies, and we've helped save the lives of hundreds of Border Collies.

We are desperate to find somewhere as soon as possible so that we can help hundreds more in the future.

We will consider most locations in England and Wales. All help is very much appreciated.

Can you help sarah, paul, all the dogs & future dogs...

Hi, I've just been looking at this website and reading the section on stick insects and can I just say that a lot of what has been written appears to be untrue rubbish. For example, it says; 'There are many different species of stick insect, amongst them are: Indian, Indonesian, Jungle Nymph, Mackaileys Spectre, New Guinea Female, New Guinea Male, Peruvian Fern, Pink-Winged, Praying Mantis, Spineless New Guinea, Thailand, Thornback Female and Trinidad Log.' For a start, New Guinea female and new guinea male are merely the male and female of a species, not two seperate species, and a praying Mantis is certainly not a species of stick inset, it is an entirely different animal, a carnivore whereas stick insects are herbivores. Also it says; 'You will need a well ventilated aquarium to keep your stick insect in.' This is not always good advice. Where some species do need good ventilation, others need little or none and the ventilation described would kill them. Finally, I noticed that it said; 'Males rarely live for longer than a month after their final molt, or long after mating.' This is the most utter tosh imaginable! I have a few males who have all lived for ages after mating and their final moult. I am not wishing to critisize or be rude, I just think that if correct info cannot be given, it shouldn't be given at all. If you are interested in purchasing stick insects or have any queries on their care, please email: stickies4sale@hotmail.co.uk

Informative, decorative and comprehensive. One slight gripe though......(hope you don't mind).....you've got a frog (amphibian) representing the reptiles section.

Have added this site to my favourites.

Rescue A Paw.
This forum is about people who care about what happens to all animals when they are no longer wanted, just thrown out to fend for themselves or abused we are here to help second hand pets find forever loving forever homes, if you know about an unwanted pet please post here (http://s4.invisionfree.com/rescueapaw/index.php?act=idx) with a pic and a little bit about the animal, hopefully someone here can help by either finding a home or fostering till a home is found, if you run a rescue you are very welcome to promote your organisation here, at the end of the day we are all here for the same reason and that is to end the suffering and to find happy permanent homes.

This is our free new domain which you can use if you like: http://www.rescueapaw.co.nr

Your info about pet rats needs changed a bit.

First of all bumblefoot is NOT caused by wire floors. It is a staph infection caused by dirty cages or over weight rats. Its also genetic.

Also advantage and the other flea remedies can safely be used on rats for things such as lice and mites when the proper dose is given.

I am a vet. You need to change this and stop giving false info!

Hi, I really like the new design, it is much better than the previous one. This new design has lots of character, color and is now very quick to load and works in all browsers. Excellent site and great to see that yous are looking to improve the site further and further.

Nice site. I was checking out your horse section when I noticed you had Thoroughbreds discribed as being the fastest horse. Actually the fastest horse in the world is the Quarter horse. They can reach speeds up to 54 mph during a certain point in a race. Thoroughbreds can't even come close to that. Just thought you might want to know.

We're delighted to report our first three internet homings of Bobo, Jimmy and Polly, three cats from Bala. A lovely couple in Bristol were looking for an indoor cat. They saw the pictures of the three adult cats from Bala on www.giveusahome.co.uk and two weeks later they drove all the way from Bristol to Montgomeryshire to collect them. We received a lovely message from Bristol reporting that all three were settling in well after the first week. Many thanks to www.giveusahome.co.uk for posting their details on the web and we look forward to many more successful internet homings.

Good idea for a site. I'm a little disapointed to see there's not that much interest in snakes tho. They are a wonderful pet and one that seems to get a bad rap in the media and are very misunderstood. I think there great and would recomend them to anyone interested in an exotic pet as long as they are willing to put in the effort and money required. Check out www.snakebyte.co.uk -> "My Snakes"

I think this is a very good site -giving hope to old and beaten animals - giving them all a second chance. The design of the website is bright and colourful and well set out. The guestbook is very good, the "add a message" could be positioned better i.e. have a link under Utilities saying add a message. As there is no explanation in how to leave a new message. Apart from that I think its a top class website.

I think this is a great site. I wish I could rescue an animal from here but I cant, I have to many animals. If I did it wouldnt be fair to the animals because I wouldnt have enough time or money for it. I already have 1 cat, 3 gerbils, 1 hamster, fish, 1 guinea pig, 12 ducks, 8 swans and 28 chickens. They have all been adopted from the SPCA except for the ducks, swans and chickens. I really hope this site will find MANY poor animals new loving and caring homes!

i love this website!!!! this is one of the few that helps little animals that dont have homes. i especially love that you only have to click on the food and its automatically sent to the shelter. i really hope that all the animals find good homes.:-)

Visited your site, as am a homevetter for one of the rescue centres featured. Great site and let's hope that a lot more deserving animals get loving homes as a result.
Next message Anonymous posted on Sunday, May 21, 2000 - 8:44 pm
Hi,I think this websiye is great for animal centres! It's great to see so many animals get re-homed after they have been abandonned.I'm still
(after 5 years!) trying to get my dad to buy me a puppy OR a dog,I'm not that fussed,as long as I know that I have done my part in buying 1 and bringing it home. The only bad thing though is that I have 2 cats,so with a bit of luck I'll be able to find a dog that gets on great with cats. See you later and keep up the great work on this webpage!Nicola.xxxx

This is a really superb site. It's great that there's so many different pages for kids too.

I'm trying to re-home my Rough Collie. He needs a good loving home. He can be a bit cheeky at times and makes us laugh. He's too intelligent for his own good and still thinks he's a puppy, despite being seven. He loves to run on open countryside and on beaches. Check out page 21 of the dogs pages.

Email me if you know of someone who may be interested in him. We're in Glasgow but can travel as far as Manchester if required.

Enjoy the site. I recently adopted a cat (Jasper) from the Newcastle Cat & Dog Shelter (the smallest of the two shelters) after my previous cat died (Pepsi, aged 13 - missed dearly).

Jasper was a stray with long hair, lots of tats and a bit thin. We cleaned him up and combed out his tats. He is now looking good and is putting on weight. He has taken over the house and the neighbourhood! The other cats all disappear when he goes out! He is a loving cat and has settled in well.

Keep up the good work.

PLEASE can we have some Scottish items here. We poor old Scots love our animals too. There are many folks who would love to rehome, but there's nothing on the web for us. I think it's better to rehome when you are told about the character of the animal from someone who looks after it, than from kennels who have a million and one cats and dogs to rehome! How can they possibly know all the traits of the animal! Keep up the good workd, and don't forget about us Scots!

Hi, this looks like a great site. I've just created mine at www.heavenlyz.com (you may recognise the name as we run a kennels on the Notts/Derbys border). However, mine only took me 15hrs, judging by the quality yours must have taken weeks! Anyway, keep up the good work - I'll visit now and again to see how you're getting on.

What a kind and amourous thing to do for a child so young to spend his time wanting to help animals who are in need of a loving home.
I have 2 Cocker Spanials Katie and Rosie and they give me so much love and affection, I somtimes feel that I prefer animals to people how many dogs do you know who hold a grudg or fall out with you when you do somthing wrong, and no person on earth will give you a greating with such love as a dog will.
I try to watch Pet Rescue on the telly most days and although I do not want to lose my 2 girls I know that one day they will be gone and I will not do as in the past go to a breeder to buy a puppy I will choose a dog in need of a good home and lots of love
Keep up all your good work

Hi,
When I saw 'This Morning' with Richard and Judy, I couldn't help but think to myself, "What a positively brilliant idea." It's really good to see someone using the internet for the welfare of animals, instead of making money.
I have two Cockatiels called Lady and Smokey. Both of them are real characters.
I suffer from ME, and my wife got both birds as a therapeutic hobby, which was a great help in keeping my stress levels down.
Lady and Smokey are now a bonded pair, they have recently produced a chick, which is now fully fledged and has got a new home with my Niece and Nephew. There is always the possibility of more young cockatiels to follow. If I need help in finding safe new homes for any future young birds, then hopefully I can use your site. Please let me know if this is ok. If any of your site visitors want help or advice about their cockatiels, then please feel free to point them in my direction via e'mail.
Keep up the good work, I think you are doing a brilliant job. Kind Regards, from Les Smith.

Just wanted to say how good we thought the site was. It's a shame to see so many abandoned and stray animals, especially dogs in this country. Good to see that somebody like yourselves are actually taking the time out to see that these dogs get a better chance than they've already been given. Keep up the good work.

Hi,

Well what can I say, saw you on telly as all of these other people have and along with them I think what you've managed via the internet is amazing !!! Good to see some people using the internet for unselfish reasons rather than just to make profits ...

Keep up the good work, and wonder if any Parakeets are needing a good home.

I saw you on This Morning - This Morning - well done on your award keep up the good work.

We have a house rabbit called Dougal (after Father Dougal from the TV series Father Ted)who has just discovered a liking for Twiglets. We are only allowing her a few a day but she (yes a she called Dougal - due to taking her to a vet who is not too hot on rabbit gender) looks like she is smoking a cigarette as she slowly nibbles the Twiglet. Quite noisey too as you can imagine.

Keep up the good work!

Best wishes to you all.

I have a boxer dog from a rescue centre and I love him SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was given up 'cos his old owner's boyfriend used to hit him. The owner gave him up 'cos she knew that the dog would bite the boyfriend.
Every abandoned dog/a dog that has been hit deserves to be given a new home.
this is great aswell 'cos loads of people use the net.

I saw you on This Morning, and thought what a fantastic idea this web site is, my dog was thrown out or a car onto the motorway, breaking his hip, we found him and brought him back to health, as no one claimed him we now have him, if we hadnt have found him i dont know what would have happened to him, he is now an enegetic bundle of joy and is willing to learn anything.
I think it is great that there are other people willing to give a Dog a second chance!!!!

What a fantasitic idea. We have 2 big dogs and 2 cats so in a terrace house there is no more room for other animals but if there was I would definately come here.My dog Toby was from the local animal shelter and because he had such a bad start in life he is always so happy now. It is so heart warming to give an animal another start and really love and cherish them, we couldn't be apart now.
IT IS ALWAYS WORTH PUTTING YOURSELFIN THE SHOES OF THE ANIMALS THAT DO NOT HAVE A HOME AND FAMILY AND WHO HAVE BEEN MALTREATED - the thoughts that come from that should make anyone with a heart want to give a loving home to these animals.
Love and best wishes Zoe Hope, Bolton

Can you help? My sister in law to be wants a dog desperately. She has been searching for the right kind of dog for sometime. I would just like to say, like many other people who have seen you on 'This Morning', that you are doing great work for hundreds of unwanted pets all over the country. Keep up the good work !

I myself have been brought up with animals, dogs, rabbits, fish, chipmunks, hamsters and rats.
At the moment my parents have 2 gun dogs and they are very lovign and i think Focus would be a great companion when my dad takes them out. I myself have a young child and i am at home all day and i think having a dog would be good for me and my child. And seeing Focus this morning i think he would settle in lovely.
I used to be a full time veterinary nurse and i have had dogs in the past so he would be going ot the best home and the best care possible.
I hope you will consider me in rehoming 'Focus'.

Keep up the good work !!

Hi, my name is Sian,
I saw you on This Morning with the rabbit, "Bisto" he seems lovely and I would love to give him a home. If we did adopt him I can assure you he would go to a GOOD home and have lots of company as I have four other rabbits who roam around my whole garden and become house rabbits at night. My family have always loved animals especially rabbits and cats. We have 2 cats, 4 rabbits, 7, gerbils, a hamster and a LOT of fish and we love them all to bits and are always willing to take in more animals that need a good loving home. We would also have a dog but obviously we can't because of our cats and rabbits. Keep up the good work and please consider us for a loving home for Bisto. Hi,
I have just seen you on This Morning and I think what your doing is great. Animals deserve the chance to live and have a good home and they shouldn't be put down just because of their character or for any reason. I LOVE rabbits and we have four of them. We've got a big garden and we let them run around the whole of it, and at night time we bring two of them into the house as house rabbits, and the other two have got the whole garage to run around in at night. I would be happy to give the rabbit that was shown on This Morning a home.

love to give a cat a home, that is unable to get out.

I have had cats in the past, but because I now live in a top flat find it difficult to find a pet
that fits the above.

So a pet that is unable to leave the house would be ideal

Jasper was loved by everyone including our Dog and Cat and when i performed my hsows he came with a Harness and Lead and the Kids Loved him too!
But sadly at the new year we lost him to an illness. we have`nt thought it possible to replace him but seeing the Rabbit on "This Morning" we thought "Yes" . and we would dearly love to give him a happy Home.

Well done and keep up the good work!!!!

Well done for a useful and interesting site.

What can I say!I've been searching the net for months for a site like yours and somehow missed it. What you have done here is brilliant, and really beyond words. I am an avid animal lover with a mad westie, and want to give her a friend. I think it's important to weigh up the pros and cons of each pet, and your site gives marvellous information on both pedigree and homeless dogs. What I find upsetting is the fact that this site shows a mere percentage of all the homeless animals that we, the pet loving nation, abandon and mistreat. It's as though after all these years of neglect and abuse being broadcast on our television sets,no lessons have been learned. Each animal has it's own personality and quirks, as do we humans, and loving an animal means taking time and consideration, as you welcome it to become a member of your household for a very long time.It is as important as bringing a new born baby home. Life revolves around your children, as it should your pets.I am however disappointed to find that there are no Scottish links on the site, nor Scottish breeders, perhaps in time! Thanks again for all that you are doing, and best wishes for the future.

I hope this site finds good homes for all the unwanted animals. I am looking for a chocolate Labrador who needs a home (male/female). I already have 5 rescued pets, Jan, Gideon, D'Arcy, Myrtle and Roxby.

Please don't buy animals that have been bred for profit - rescue one - you'll feel better!

Hi, I have really enjoyed looking at your site and think that you are doing a great job. It would be great to see how many of your dogs on the rehoming section have now got homes. I have a boarder collie that is 2 and i know he would love a girlfriend. So maybe in the near future i may be able to offer one a home.
I have looked at many doggie related sites but this is byfar the best.
Keep up the good work.

Great site, I am in favour of anything that helps all of these animals find a new home. I have a Cocker spaniel which I rescued 2 years ago, she was 10 then and had been kept out in a garage for 3 years. She had 5 tumours and 4 rotten teeth when we got her. But now having had all of these problems treated, she is a lovely dog and goes everywhere with me. She really is my best friend and I can not imagine life without her. It certainly was my gain the day I met Gemma.

I have wrote in this book before, my name is Mrs Angela O'Neill, I have a white Alsation and a wee Mongrel which I rescued from Carryduff in Belfast, when she was only 6 weeks old, she is now 4 years old, and my big one is nearly 4. I would not be without my dogs I love them to bits, anyone one abandons a dog or cat, is a very cruel person.

You are doing a wonderful job keep it up, there is nothing like the love and loyalty of a dog, or i'm sure a cat as well.

Very good site but also very sad, people never learn.I run Springer Spaniel Rescue in the Scottish Borders but it's not only Springer Spaniels I rescue these days.(Deerhounds/Cavaliers/King Charles/Flat coated Retrievers/Cross Springer Labradors and Cross Lakeland Border Terriers.
I am surprised that the breed rescues don't appear to be helping the main shelters in homing their paricular breeds.
Quite often I have taken springers from general rescue centres for rehoming and willingly provided them with a donation.
I'm always here to help and hope others will follow in my footsteps; after all people who want a particular breed 'usually' start off with that breed rescue.
At the end of the day the dogs are the most important things.

I have accessed this site to obtain some rescue centres for the many people who ring me from afar where we do not have rescue helpers. I run Border Collie Rescue in the South East and I can honestly say this is one of the most informative sites I have logged on to. All the very best and many thanks for such a lot of information.
