Bagpuss
was a BBC TV children's programme, first shown in 1974. Bagpuss
is a magical, saggy, cloth cat, who is pink with pale yellow stripes.
Only 13 episodes of Bagpuss were ever made. It is through Bagpuss'
eyes that everything is seen and only when he is awake do his friends
all come to life. Bagpuss can make all of his thoughts visible in
bubbles which appear over his head.

Big
Bird may look big and scary, but he's just a big softie from Sesame
Street. Big bird is 8 feet and 2 inches tall! Wow! Big Bird is a
very curious creature who makes friends easily. He is six years
old and shares his nest with Radar, his teddy bear. His best friend
is Snuffleupagus and he likes figuring things out, rollerskating,
birdseed milkshakes from Mr. Hooper's store. Big Bird gets angry
when people do not believe Snuffleupagus exists.

Bugs
Bunny first appeared in a short Porky Pig cartoon. He was just a
support character without a name who smartly tormented Pork. He
is famed for quipping "What's Up Doc" whilst chewing on
a camera. Bugs in probably the most famous character belonging to
Warner Brothers.

Alvin
and the Chipmunks was first screened back in the 1950's. The Chipmunks
are Alvin, Simon and Theodore and David Seville is their guardian.
Alvin is the self-appointed leader of the group. He is the smallest
chipmunk and tries to make up for it with his grand schemes and
animal magnetism. Simon is the scholar. He is smart enough to anticipate
Alvin’s harebrained schemes and often has to bail his impulsive
brother out of trouble. Theodore loves to eat. He is very shy and
gullible - he sees the good in others.

The
world's most famous corgi's are owned by Her Majesty The Queen.
Corgi's have been royal pets since 1933, when King George VI bought
'Dookie'. Five years later, he acquired another, Jane. The Queen
grew up with these dogs and has been attached to Corgi's ever since,
on her 18th birthday she was given a corgi bitch, Susan. It is quite
an achievement, that the Queen currently has corgi's of the tenth
generation bred from Susan! Phoenix, Kelpie, Swift and Emma are
the Queen's current corgis. She also has four dorgis which are a
cross of corgis and dachshunds. The corgi's are looked after by
the Queen herself, as much as possible in her private appartments.
The
Queen's dogs are usually buried in the grounds of the house in which

Donald
Duck is Walt Disney's famous Duckbill character. His very first
appearance was in the Mickey Mouse Annual in a poem called More
HooZoo, he first appeared in a film in 1934, The Wise Little Hen.
Donald has three nephews called Huey, Dewey and Louie, who in later
years, Donald raised. He also has an uncle, Scrooge McDuck. Donald
lives in Duckburg. Donald owns a St Bernard dog called Bolivar who
has a puppy called Behemoth. Donald has a long-time girlfriend too,
Daisy Duck - Daisy is actually Donald's cousin. Donald's full name
is Donald Fauntleroy Duck.

Eeyore
is the famous donkey created by A A Milne in Winnie the Pooh story
books. Eeyore has a gloomy attitude towards life and it doesn't
help that his tail keeps coming off and his house keeps falling
down! Despite his gloominess, Eeyore still has lots of friends at
the Hundred Acre Woods. He is 3 years old and only 18 inches tall!
He is a very quiet donkey who keeps himself to himself, but is also
intelligent. Eeyore loves to eat thistles, but hates being bounced
by Tigger.

Fozzie
Bear is the naughtiest muppet from Jim Henson's collection. He likes
to annoy his friends (Kermit the Frog, Gonzo and the rest of the
gang) with his jokes, his rubber chicken and his whoopee cushion!
He can usually be found dodging tomatoes when performing as a comedian
and a singer!

This
is Goofy. He is the silly friend on Mickey Mouse. He first made
an appearance in Mickey's Revue (1932) where he was originally known
as Dippy Dawg. Goofy has a nephew, Gilbert and a wife is occassionally
mentioned called Uncle Ophal Dizzy. Goofy has quite a lot of pets,
including Wilbur the Grasshopper, Waffles the Cat and Salty the
Parrot. He lives in Spoonerville. He also has some enemies, including
Emil Eagle, Bad Pete and Detectives Barke & Howell.

| Hong
Kong Phooey is the alter ego of mild mannered caretaker, Penrod Pooch
also known as Penry. He becomes Hong Kong Phooey by using a file cabinet.
Accompanied by his faithful sidekick, Spot, the crime fighting canine
uses his martial arts training to thwart evil villains. Penry receives
his inside information by working at the Police Department HQ with
Sergeant Flint and Rosemary the telephone operator. A fairly incompetent
hero, he is seemingly unaware that it is in fact Spot who saves the
day as Phooey finds himself tied up in his own traps. He travels around
with Spot in the PhooeyMobile, which can transform itself into almost
any mode of transport! Hong Kong Phooey first aired in 1974, and 16
episodes we produced. |
